John has had nearly 30 years experience covering mainly aviation related subjects in the RAAF, airline and general aviation fields.
He has supplied images and articles for various magazines whilst acting as a freelance photographer at Red Bull Air Races in Perth '06, '07, '08 and '10; Defence Force Air Show, Amberley 2008; Avalon International Air Show '07, '09, '11 and '13 and Defence Force Air Show, Townsville 2009 and Williamtown 2010 for magazine clients like Australian Flying Magazine and Australian Aviation.
John now also writes for Australian Flying Magazine as a photojournalist as well as supplying the images for flight test articles both on the ground and air to air images specialising particularly in covering aviation events. He has supplied images to in-house newsletters such as Qantas Flight Operations Newletter and has supplied Raytheon L3 Communications with an image for their display stand at the 2009 Avalon International Air Show.
Recent clients include Mahindra Aerospace, an Indian Aerospace company now investing in aircraft manufacturing in Gippsland. John has supplied their images for the release of their new aircraft. These included images for use in brochures, multi-media presentations airshow expos like the 2013 Avalon International Airshow and web site usage both here and in the USA.
John is available for most any aviation subjects specializing in personalised images for the individual owner who want photos of their pride and joy to the business owner looking for images to enhance their aviation business.
He has extensive aviation experience as well so he knows just how to setup that shot.
John has now branched out and is covering sports such as equestrian, junior and school sports. Recent activity include providing for sale images taken on fund raising cycle rides like the Annual Ipswich100 and Moreton Bay100 rides. These are sold through John's online gallery.
Almost any action sport is no problem for John after his extensive background with high energy subjects and the equipment available.
Only some minor awards for travel images have been won so far as he doesn't enter too many competitions. John, who is a member of AIPP and NPS, shoots digital these days with images up to large very high resolution using long telephoto and a selection of wide angle equipment. He also has an extensive stock library of mainly military aviation images dating back to the '70s as well as modern aviation subjects that could be used for a number of purposes.
