I am a Brisbane-based portrait photographer specialising in the art of newborn photography.
I am a wife and mother of two wonderful children.
I am passionate about photography and spellbound by the purity and innocence of new life.
My aim is to capture beautiful, classic, timeless images of your new baby that will be treasured for a lifetime.
My style is very casual and relaxed. All sessions take place in my natural light home studio in Brisbane's Western Suburbs. I take great care during each session to ensure the baby's needs are always my number one priority.
My passion for photography started when I was still in my early teens but really blossomed after my two children were born. I spent the next few years honing my technical and creative skills and am now an accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers.

Newborns are truly one of the most precious and beautiful gifts. From their perfect little fingers and toes to their squishy pink lips. From their sweet smelling neck to their oh-so-delicate eyelashes?If only they could stay that way just a little longer. Luisa Dunn Photography specialises in capturing the essence of newborns so that families can treasure these special moments for years to come. We all know how fast they grow up. How wonderful will it be to look back and remember these first special days of their lives. Newborns are simply and completely, pure perfection.
Newborn Photography Sessions
New babies are ideal to photograph between 7-10 days old when they are still very sleepy and comfortable in curly 'in-the-womb' positions. For this reason, it is important that you book your session early while you are pregnant to ensure availability.
Newborn sessions are held in my home studio located in Brisbane's Western suburbs. All newborn images are captured in the comfort of my indoor studio using natural available light.
All props including blankets, beanies, wraps, throws and bows are provided by me and are available for your session. If you have sentimental items such as 'nanna's knitted blanket', special clothing items or hats you would like included in your photographs, please bring them along to your session and I will do my best to incorporate them into your images.
Sessions are very casual and relaxed and I take special care in working with your newborn's own schedule. Depending on how sleepy or hungry your newborn is, sessions can last anywhere between 3-3.5 hours. Sessions commence at around 9.30am ? 10am on most weekdays.
There is a comfortable lounge area where you can settle in, relax and enjoy watching your little one's first professional photoshoot.

Luisa photographed Hunter when he was 15 days old. Watching her photograph Hunter was an absolute delight – she worked some special magic. Luisa managed to take some brilliant photographs of Hunter wide awake. She then paced up and down the hallway of her studio, jiggling Hunter to sleep. Once asleep she gently moved him into various positions. I think if she gave up photography she could have a career in baby whispering. I was amazed at how she worked but even more amazed at the final photographs. The photographs were beautiful. The awake shots of Hunter captured his quirky personality and the sleeping photographs were so serene. Luisa is a photographer who is genuinely interested in capturing unique shots of newborns. I would not hesitate to recommend her to friends and family.
