Robert Cassidy is a professional photographer based in Bothwell, Tasmania
As a Tasmanian Photographer who is passionate about the art and science of photography, I continuously strive to make the mundane extraordinary, the uninspiring exciting, and to capture beauty that is often taken for granted, overlooked or makes a fleeting presence. I was lured to take up residence, in Tasmania, a decade ago, by Photographer Peter Dombrovskis, after seeing his landscape photograph, titled, Rock Island Bend on the Franklin River, southwest Tasmania.
I have been published, internationally, for more than twenty-seven years, as a Photographer and Writer. In 1992, I was published, for the first time, in a US magazine distributed internationally. I submitted an unsolicited article with accompanying photographs to the magazines editor. A typewriter and a Minolta 35mm film SLR camera were used. Subsequently, I was invited to become a Staff Writer and Photographer, to which I contributed, for six years. I transitioned from film to digital camera equipment, in 2008.
Only Professional Equipment: employed:
Nikon D3X, D3 and Hasselblad 503CWD digital cameras and professional studio lighting are used, exclusively, for results you would expect from a professional Photographer.
