Hi, Im Michelle Lee, a professional photographer based in Melbourne. Whilst based in Melbourne, I do love to travel and have previously done work and still do in Adelaide, Sydney and the Philippines (prior to COVID).
With over 8 years experience working in Photography, Events and Marketing I like to capture a subject (object, event or person) and share their story through an outsiders perspective in a way which highlights them in the best possible and most natural way.
Whilst I specialise in Events, Sports, Live Music and Portrait Photography mostly, I try not to limit myself to what I can and can not do as I am a free spirited person and like to shoot a bit of everything and love to challenge myself. I have recently started branching more into commercial, lifestyle, still life and landscape photography.
I spend my time equally within the events and photography industries as I like to work in the best of both worlds which I find gives me an advantage when it comes to shooting as I not only look at things from a photographers view, but from a patron and an organisers point of view.
My approach in photography and my editing style is a natural journalistic one when it comes to most things but i do like to mix it up a little every now and then with creative edits and shoots also.
With my portrait photography I find the best approach and shots come from just being yourself. I work with you to feel as comfortable as possible, because I understand that not everyone likes their photo being taken (myself included!) but sometimes for marketing purposes we may have too. I don't like overly posed photographs and will work with you only guiding as needed to bring out your best self as I would rather let your personality shine through.
I am comfortable working with a brief or shooting things independently without direction.
In my free time you will often find me down at the beach photographing the local water sports, or out and about anywhere with live music, camera in hand.
