Kaye Schubach, Art critic and writer
Chelli Kover has an ability to imbue her photographs with something more than presents the eye â?? an added dimension of strength, a poignancy. There is an intellectual dimension to the way she approaches her subject and the result is a social commentary, a larger context, a universality. She taps into a broader context.
A nude becomes empowered, uncontained, fractious, pure light and motion. A portrait of a new-born becomes an ode to vulnerability, nurture and human kindness. Her Architectural photography, suddenly becomes an exercise in voyeurism and alienation. Every photograph pushes against its first impression. It has a weight and meaning, but always gently, always kind.
I would say Chelliâ??s social commentary is akin to Salgadoâ??s and yet her repertoire is broader: feminine and fun, bold and smart. Here she comes, watch out.
James Bilios, Musician, Producer and Entrepreneur
I commissioned Chelli to document the interiors of my boutique hotel, The Blackett Hotel for our website and advertising needs. I found Chelli & her team easy to work with and she worked quickly without any disruption. The images were delivered within 7 days. I was extremely happy with the result.
