Marcie Shaoul, Head of External Affairs, Commonwealth Foundation
Brooke Miles worked for the Commonwealth Peopleâ??s Forum 2011 in Perth. She had a challenging remit: to photograph delegates, ministers, workshops and cultural events. Brooke showed a flair and a commitment to her photography and to our project that we were really pleased with. Her work is excellent and her understanding of the brief, her ability to work well with all the other consultants, volunteers and staff was appreciated and her happy demeanour and discreet way of working placed her as one of the best photographers that has worked at the Commonwealth Peopleâ??s Forum.

I’ve been a client of the photography industry for close to 25 years and have had the privilege of working with some incredibly talented photographers in that time. My career started with the advertising industry in the early 90s … the hallowed days of film photography. My first experience working with Brooke took me back to those days … a photographer of exceptional talent who has a passion and an eye for creating rich images that capture the true essence. Our first project together was for our funky little café, and I was honestly gobsmacked at the result. Without wishing to sound ‘old’ … these days it’s not uncommon to hear a photographer talk of “fixing it later on the computer” … but with Brooke you’ll see the perfect image through the view finder, and for me that is true talent.
