David Jo Bradley is an Australian documentary photographer. He currently works in London and Perth, Western Australia.

David's photography holds a familiarity entrenched in reality, while at the same time commenting on the secret strangeness lying below the surface of contemporary life. Key themes include consumerism, environmental sustainability and American culture, and how these factors influence the world at large.

David has undertaken several international documentary photography projects, each focussing on interactions between people, the environment, and culture. In July 2012 David visited the Northwest of Western Australia, documenting human impact on the Cape Range bioregion, which includes the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park and the Cape Range National Park. It is from this project that photographs were selected for this exhibition.

In March 2011 he travelled to China to commence the first phase of documenting the rapidly changing country as its international influence grows. Also in 2011 David travelled to Madagascar, Mongolia and Russia, documenting social changes brought about by communication technologies in societies at various stages of economic and social development.

David is also finalising a documentary project started 2010, which follows the transition of cultures along traditional religious fault lines in Northern Africa and Mediterranean Europe.

David is a board member of the Perth Centre for Photography, his work has been exhibited in Australia and internationally. View More...
