Nick Egglington is a professional photographer based in Woodville North, South Australia
Hi, my name is nick - a freelance photographer, journalist and explorer at large. For twenty years I have been capturing and interpreting the world through the rich medium of words and photographic images. By employing my writing and photographic skills I have communicated ideas, feelings; recorded events, places; and illustrated amazing things that surround us everyday.
I believe in living in the moment, cherishing the past and embracing the future. Photography and journalism is a lens with which we examine our busy and exciting lives. It forces us to slow down, reflect on the world around us, and ultimately reflect upon ourselves. Photography and journalism is powerful, an agent of change, and a tool of education.
My journey into photography began twenty years ago when I picked up my first Kodak disposable camera - the first roll capturing my two week journey on a tall ship sailing the Great Southern Ocean. Since then photography and writing has become a long and enduring love affair that has taken me on an amazing journey across many states and countries. Ive met interesting people, heard their stories and gazed in wonderment at beautiful, extensive landscapes.
Through formal tuition and practice I have become skilled in most areas of photography and writing, but my passion still lies in journalism. This year I am putting together a book showcasing some of South Australia?s amazing outdoor destinations and the people that help to make them special. View More...
