Now known as Kalgoorlie-Boulder, after the two cities joined, Kalgoorlie was found during the 1890s gold rush and sits at the end of the Great Eastern Highway, close to the alleged Gold Mile. An interesting place for photographers is the Boulder Town Hall, not only for its early 20th century architecture, but also for the Goatcher Theatre Curtain inside it. Philip Goatcher, one of the greatest artists of the Victorian age in terms of theatrical scenes painted this trompe-l'il curtain, which literally deceives your sight. In the right light, your photos can achieve exactly what the artist intended through his craftsmanship./ For a truly magnificent lookout, you should head over to the Superpit, an open work mine that plays with all of your senses. For some wildlife photography sessions, Karlkurla Bushland Park and Hammond Park are some of the most worthwhile places to visit.
