My name is Laurie Ross and I am a passionate self taught Nature & Stormscape Photographer, originally from New Zealand but I now live in Darwin, Australia.

I have been fortunate enough to visit and photograph in many countries around this amazing world including New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Canada, Peru, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico and my favourite of all the United States of America.

My website showcases well over 600 species of birds and more than 100 species of Mammal & Reptiles. It shows you all the endless hours I have spent to get to the level I am today and my passion for photography.

I am also a very passionate storm-chaser and have been fortunate enough to travel to the USA and chase tornados, in 2014 season my wife and I chased in 10 states and managed 6 tornados! Not bad for our first attempt.

I fell in love with taking photography after driving 180,000 km around Australia searching for a place to call home. During our travels around Australia's coast, my wife and I kept finding ourselves lured back to the the Northern Territory and all it's unique way of life. How can you go past the relaxed life style, great food, interesting people, fascinating wildlife and especially the extremes of the weather you learn to live with and love.

Australia is a beautiful part of the world, it is a Photographer's playground with so many exciting photographic opportunities.

I picked up my first ever camera back in 2007, a Panasonic "point and shoot". I quickly grew out of a basic camera and progressed to a Canon 1000D my first SLR. This would be the start of a serious love affair with photography and everlasting pursuit of that perfect photo.

After many years of patience and self taught settings, Four Canon SLR camera bodies, many different Canon Lenses and hundreds of thousands of photos, I am producing the quality photography you see here today.
